Haew Suwat Waterfall

Haew Suwat Waterfall
Khao Yai's most photographed waterfall plunges 20 meters from cliff into large basin below, creating this iconic scene that appeared in the film "The Beach" and has been launching Instagram careers ever since.
The single dramatic drop differs from Sarika's multi-tier cascade—you're standing at cliff edge watching water freefall into pool below, or you're swimming in that basin looking up at the water column above. The large swimming area accommodates crowds better than smaller waterfalls, though weekends still pack bodies in tightly.
Multiple hiking routes connect to other park areas, turning the waterfall into starting point for longer treks rather than just destination. The excellent stargazing at night (when the park allows overnight stays) adds dimension beyond daytime waterfall viewing.

Monika's Tip
Arrive at 6 AM park opening to photograph the falls in morning light without people in your shots. By 10 AM tour buses arrive and the basin fills with swimmers. The first 4 hours deliver the experience everyone wants but most people miss by arriving late.
