Space Roller Rink

⚠️ SAFETY WARNING: Structurally unstable building with caved-in roof, pitch-black interior, debris hazards, and inhabited spaces.

Chiang Mai's most accessible abandoned site offers 1990s roller skating rink decaying for over two decades near Arcade Bus Terminal, creating this eerie relic of the Asian Financial Crisis that popular attraction for Thai families and teenagers froze in time when economy collapsed.

The Space Roller Extreme Sport & Techno Games sign still hangs despite the interior being completely destroyed—roof caved in, heaps of rubbish throughout, pitch-black rooms requiring strong flashlight, and Thai homeless residents occupying some sections. The graffiti quality is notably bad compared to urban art elsewhere.

It's dangerous. It's legally questionable. And it represents Chiang Mai's only major urbex location after the financial crisis bankrupted multiple development projects across northern Thailand.

Monika's Tip

External shots from the parking lot show the decaying Space Roller sign and give you the visual story without the structural dangers, legal issues, or disturbing homeless residents trying to survive inside. The photography value is the exterior decay aesthetic anyway—the dangerous interior exploration isn't worth the risks.
