Wachirathan Waterfall

By far one of Chiang Mai's most beautiful waterfalls showcasing mountain water power through this dramatic cascade in Doi Inthanon National Park.

Located 1.5 hours from Chiang Mai Old Town, the ฿300 adult park pass includes access to all Doi Inthanon waterfalls making the pricing reasonable when visiting multiple cascades. Operating 6 AM-5 PM daily creates full-day exploration window.

Guided tours provide easiest and most affordable access versus rental car navigation or motorbike riding mountain roads. The photography opportunities justify the must-visit designation despite swimming prohibition—the scale and power photograph spectacularly.

Monika's Tip

Visit 7-9 AM when morning mist creates ethereal atmosphere around the waterfall and sunlight hasn't created harsh shadows yet. The early timing also avoids tour bus crowds arriving 10 AM-2 PM. The mist photography is worth setting alarm.
