Guay Jub Stalls

Guay Jub Stalls
The junction of Yaowarat and Yaowa Phanit (opposite White Orchid Hotel) hosts competing guay jub vendors who've turned regional comfort food into territorial competition.
Rolled rice noodles swimming in herbal, peppery broth with organ meats—it's not for everyone, which is exactly why it's authentic.
The broth is medicinal-tasting from Chinese five-spice and white pepper. The organ meats are unapologetically organ-y. Local Thais queue here after midnight when the bars close and nothing else sounds good.

Monika's Tip
The stall with the blue umbrella has been there longest. Ask for 'mai sai krueng nai'—without organ meats. You still get the incredible broth and noodles but skip the intestines. ฿60 and easier on nervous stomachs."
