Sanctuary of Truth

Sanctuary of Truth
Extraordinary 105m all-wooden temple on the Pattaya waterfront — carved entirely without nails, depicting Hindu and Buddhist cosmology at monumental scale.
An extraordinary all-wooden structure on the Pattaya waterfront — part temple, part castle, built entirely without a single metal nail. Every surface is carved with intricate Hindu and Buddhist iconography representing the four religions of Asia. At 105 metres tall, it is one of the largest wooden constructions in the world and has been under continuous construction since 1981 (still ongoing).
The scale is genuinely breathtaking. Up close, the quality of carving work — done by artisans from across Thailand — becomes apparent: mythological figures, gods, elephants, nagas, and celestial beings covering every column, beam, and roofline.
Activities Onsite Cultural performances twice daily (11:30 AM and 3:30 PM) featuring traditional dance. Horse riding, ATV rides, and elephant feeding available for extra fees. Boat tours around the structure from the sea.
From Bangkok Approximately 2-hour drive (150 km). Convenient as a day trip combined with Pattaya — depart early from Bangkok, visit the Sanctuary in the morning before heat peaks, then explore Pattaya for lunch and beach time, return evening.
