Longtail Boat

Longtail Boat
In and around Kanchanaburi town, longtail boats can be hired along the Kwai Yai River for scenic sightseeing past the famous Bridge on the River Kwai, waterfront temples, and local river communities.
The Bridge itself is visible and photogenic from water—you get perspectives impossible from land. Some routes extend north toward the confluence where Kwai Noi and Kwai Yai merge, showing the meeting of rivers that defined the region historically.

Monika's Tip
The bridge photograph from water is iconic—position yourself on the boat's side facing upstream to capture the full span. Morning light comes from upstream (good), evening light comes from land side (harsh). Plan accordingly.
