A 43-metre copper elephant mapping the cosmos inside. Then 200 acres of reconstructed monuments outside. Both built by the same man, for the same reason.
The same man built both. Lek Viriyaphant spent his life and fortune on two projects: the Erawan Museum — a 43-metre copper elephant whose three floors trace the Hindu-Buddhist cosmos from the Underworld to the Heavens — and Muang Boran, 200 acres of reconstructed monuments laid out in the shape of Thailand. On their own each is remarkable. Together, visited in the right order with the story connecting them, they form something larger — a single vision of what Thai civilisation is and why it matters. Monika makes the connection explicit.

Your guide meets you in the lobby and travels south with you toward Samut Prakan.
Enter the elephant through the lower floor — the Underworld, painted with scenes from Hindu and Buddhist cosmology. A spiral staircase rises through the Earthly Realm, with its ceramics and stained glass, to the top floor inside the elephant's body: a vaulted chamber depicting the Heavens. Monika explains the cosmological structure at each level and the story of why Lek Viriyaphant built it this way.
A focused afternoon visit to the key monuments — Monika selects the most important sites for the time available and places each in its historical context, drawing the thread back to the morning's visit.
Your guide returns you to your hotel.

“Born in Chiang Mai and based in Bangkok, I started 'Hi Monika' to show travellers the authentic side of my country — the places my friends and family actually hang out. I love sharing our food, our culture, and the hidden stories of our neighbourhoods.”
“Monika was incredible! We saw parts of Bangkok we never would have found on our own. The street food was amazing and we felt completely safe the entire time.”
“Perfectly organised and so much more personal than a group tour. Monika knew exactly when to go to each spot to avoid the crowds.”

The Emerald Buddha isn't emerald. The Reclining Buddha maps the cosmos. There's more here than most visitors ever find out.

A Buddha hidden for centuries. A tower built from donated porcelain. Three temples with stories most visitors walk past.

Bangkok's original roads are canals. Most of the city has forgotten. This tour remembers.
