A 105-metre all-wood temple built without nails, hand-carved since 1981, still unfinished. Then 600 acres of botanical garden. Same coast, one day.
The Sanctuary of Truth has been under construction since 1981 and isn't finished yet — by design. Every surface of this 105-metre all-wood structure is hand-carved in traditional joinery, depicting Hindu, Buddhist, Khmer and Chinese cosmology as a single unified vision. No nails. The carvers are still at work when you visit. In the afternoon, Nong Nooch's 600-acre tropical garden offers something completely different: formal French parterres, one of Asia's most significant cycad and palm collections, and an orchid house that takes time to move through properly. Two projects driven by personal conviction, both worth the drive.

Your guide meets you in the lobby for the drive south toward the coast.
Walk the exterior first — the full scale of the structure only becomes clear from outside. Then enter: every pillar, wall and ceiling surface hand-carved with Hindu deities, Buddhist cosmology, Khmer architectural motifs and Chinese symbolism woven into a single building. Monika explains what you're looking at as you move through. Carvers work on the structure daily — the tools and techniques are traditional.
Six hundred acres of botanical garden. The formal French parterre is the visual centrepiece, but the palm grove, cycad collection and orchid houses reward slower exploration. Monika knows which sections are worth the most time.

“Born in Chiang Mai and based in Bangkok, I started 'Hi Monika' to show travellers the authentic side of my country — the places my friends and family actually hang out. I love sharing our food, our culture, and the hidden stories of our neighbourhoods.”
“Monika was incredible! We saw parts of Bangkok we never would have found on our own. The street food was amazing and we felt completely safe the entire time.”
“Perfectly organised and so much more personal than a group tour. Monika knew exactly when to go to each spot to avoid the crowds.”

The Emerald Buddha isn't emerald. The Reclining Buddha maps the cosmos. There's more here than most visitors ever find out.

A Buddha hidden for centuries. A tower built from donated porcelain. Three temples with stories most visitors walk past.

Bangkok's original roads are canals. Most of the city has forgotten. This tour remembers.
