Bangkok's monks walk in silence at dawn every single day. Most visitors sleep through it. This one doesn't.
Fixed departure — 6:00 AM: The timing follows the monks' sunrise schedule and cannot be adjusted. Please be ready in your lobby at exactly this time.
Every morning at dawn, Buddhist monks walk Bangkok's older streets in silence to collect alms — food offerings prepared and given by devout residents before sunrise. This is one of the most enduring daily rituals in Thai life and one of the least commercialised experiences in the city. Monika prepares the offerings, explains the protocol, and takes you through it as a respectful participant — not a spectator.

A very early start — your guide meets you in the lobby at 6 AM. The timing follows the monks' own sunrise schedule.
Monika arrives with the offerings already prepared and briefs you on the correct protocol before the monks arrive — how to stand, how to offer, what to avoid. The procession itself is quiet and brief. The preparation and context are what make it meaningful.
After the almsgiving, a sit-down breakfast at a local café or market — the meal Bangkok residents eat after morning merit-making.
Back at your hotel before most of the city is moving.

“Born in Chiang Mai and based in Bangkok, I started 'Hi Monika' to show travellers the authentic side of my country — the places my friends and family actually hang out. I love sharing our food, our culture, and the hidden stories of our neighbourhoods.”
“Monika was incredible! We saw parts of Bangkok we never would have found on our own. The street food was amazing and we felt completely safe the entire time.”
“Perfectly organised and so much more personal than a group tour. Monika knew exactly when to go to each spot to avoid the crowds.”
Note: many local vendors and restaurants do not accept credit cards — cash is always the safest option.

The Emerald Buddha isn't emerald. The Reclining Buddha maps the cosmos. There's more here than most visitors ever find out.

A Buddha hidden for centuries. A tower built from donated porcelain. Three temples with stories most visitors walk past.

Bangkok's original roads are canals. Most of the city has forgotten. This tour remembers.
