One of Ayutthaya's quieter ruins, Wat Phra Ram rewards those who venture slightly off the main circuit. The tall central prang rises above a surrounding moat, its reflection rippling in the water, a composition few other sites in the ancient city can match for sheer atmosphere.

Unlike the busier complexes nearby, you can often walk the peaceful paths here without crowds, making it ideal for unhurried photography or simply sitting with the silence of a place that has stood for nearly six centuries.
